OBJECTIVE: To study the therapeutic effectiveness of Thermoflow’s gloves on patients suffering from Raynaud’s Syndrome.
Why Raynaud’s Syndrome?
Why was Raynaud’s Syndrome selected as the disease of choice for a clinical study to determine effectiveness of Thermoflow’s far infrared products?
Once Thermoflow received federal government approval for clinical testing, it was then up to a hospital ethical committee to decide which aliment or disease the medical trial would be based upon.
The committee elected that the testing be performed on patients suffering from Raynaud’s Syndrome. To conclusively determine the effectiveness of Thermoflow’s bio-ceramic impregnated gloves.
The deciding factor was that Raynaud’s is difficult to treat and there is a wide range of symptoms, exact cause is uncertain and approx. 15% of the female population suffer from the “phenomenon”.

Dr Gordon D. Ko MD, director of Alternative Medicine Research, and Dr. David Berbrayer MD, Head of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, both of the Woman’s College Health Sciences Center conducted the clinical study of
Thermoflow.
Participants and
Methods
Subjects with Raynaud’s phenomenon were recruited from newspaper advertisements. Out of 132 respondents, 93 met the criteria for Raynaud’s.
Validate through a series of screening tools, participants needed to score a total minimum of 4 points based on the following questions:
Have you ever had episodes when your fingers, toes, ear, tongue, or nose have turned white or very pale? (2 points)
Do the involved areas become numb or tingle? (1 point)
Does the area throb? (2 points)
Does the white area later turn blue or red? (1 point)
Are there episodes provoked by tobacco? Cold air or water? Emotion? (2 points)
Out of the subjects who passed, 93 were assessed by clinical diagnosis to evaluate and record their condition prior to testing Thermoflow’s gloves.
They were also assessed for coexistent conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, and thoracic outlet syndrome.
Use of cigarettes, caffeine, and alcohol was recorded. Along with medication use such as birth control pills, cold remedies with doephedrine, migraine pills.
Also documented was the use of vibrating tools, and occupational handedness. Average age in years was 51.8

Treatment
Thermoflow’s bio-ceramic impregnated far infrared therapy gloves were supplied to half of the participants who were instructed as to their proper use.
Placebo gloves supplied to the other half of the study group were identical in appearance, odor, and texture.
All subjects were professionally examined at the pre and post-treatment assessments.

RESULTS: Significant improvements were documented in both subjective measures of pain and discomfort and objective measures of temperature, grip and dexterity of those who
wore the Thermoflow “ceramic impregnated” gloves.
